Dental Root Elevator

A dental root elevator is a surgical instrument used by dentists and oral surgeons to loosen and remove teeth or roots from the alveolar bone (the part of the jawbone that holds the teeth). • Loosening of Teeth for Extraction:
  • The Seldin elevator can also be used to loosen a tooth from its socket prior to forceps extraction. By inserting the blade into the periodontal ligament space and applying controlled leverage, the elevator helps to sever the ligament and expand the socket for easier tooth removal.
• Access to Multirooted Teeth:
  • The Fig 1L Seldin is particularly useful for multirooted teeth, as it can be used to section the roots or elevate individual roots after the tooth has been sectioned.
